S2E4 - Nayland's Kink Education

Born in 1960, Nayland grew up on the Upper West Side of New York City in a home that embraced the counterculture of the 60s. But even though there were books of historical erotica around the house, sex was still a topic that was not to be discussed. As an adolescent, Nayland began to feel attraction towards men and they began to explore the porn theaters and erotic bookstores in Times Square where they had their first gay sexual experience.

After they attended Bard college in upstate New York, Nayland decided to come out after they moved to Los Angeles in the early 80s. Some early explorations in kink were less than ideal which led eventually led Nayland to instruct other kink enthusiasts about how to navigate consent when it comes to kink play.

S2E3 - Adam's Advice: "The Bottom Is In Control"

Growing up among the many shopping malls in Paramus, New Jersey, Adam was a sensitive kid who had obsessive compulsive disorder and was bullied so much that he had to change schools. Once he came out, Adam’s parents were supportive and he soon discovered that his younger brother was also gay and was Adam’s polar opposite when it comes to the “gay lifestyle”.

A therapist helped him accept his sexuality and also gave him some valuable advice for negotiating bottoming with overly aggressive tops. Even though he’s not sure if he’s interested in a traditional romantic relationships anymore, Adam has developed close friendships and meaningful connections with a variety of queer people over the years which has led him to become something of a New York sex nightlife innovator by organizing queer, all inclusive sex parties.

Adam’s interview was conducted in October of 2019 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

S2E2 - Aditya Finds His Tribes

Join Dave and his guest Tom following our featured interview as they discuss Tom’s new queer hook up app, HANKIES (@hankies96) which was inspired by the famous hankie code used by gay men in the early days of gay liberation.

But first…

This episode’s main event features Aditya who sat for an interview in October of 2019 in New York City.

Raised in Hyderbad, India, Aditya didn’t come out until his second year of college in New Delhi. Luckily his family and friends accepted him, but an awkward experience he had at a bath house in Hong Kong served as a reminder that queer people can often be as racist and socially elitist as straight people. Over the years, Aditya has learned to follow his instincts as he has navigated his journey from India to New York City. It hasn’t been easy, but he eventually found his tribe.

S2E1 - Jerusha's Burrito Date

Originally from the small conservative town of Puyallup, Washington, Jerusha took her time exploring her sexuality during her adolescence. In her first year of high school, she dated a guy who she later found out was gay. There were also a few hesitant explorations into queer sex (bathroom sex, stolen kisses with a cheerleader) but she didn’t come out fully until college. Jerusha has some advice for anyone - gay, straight or anyone in between - who is looking to improve their game. One story includes getting hot and heavy with a potential mate and then realizing they weren’t compatible in bed - something we can all identify with! Finally, Jerusha has some solid tips for anyone dating and looking for love: be true to yourself and feel secure about your abilities and your boundaries.

In this first episode of our second season, we unveil a new format that features an informal conversation with Dave and an in-studio guest that comes AFTER the featured interview. Join us, won’t you?
